Krishna Pandey is from the small town Tamghas, Gulmi located in western part of Nepal. He has completed his B.S in Chemistry and Microbiology major from Tri-Chandra college, Kathmandu, Nepal in 2012. Then he earned MS in Organic Chemistry from central department of chemistry under Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal in 2015. In Fall 2018, Krishna joined Dr. Plunkett’s research group in chemistry and biochemistry department at SIUC and started working on the synthesis and development of small organic molecules inhibitors that could be potential drug like candidates to alter the metabolic activities of Chlamydia trachomatis. Currently, he is working on investigating the synthetic scope, reversibility, and dynamic nature of bonding on hypervalent iodine-based macrocycles and molecular cages. Apart from the academia, he is interested on reading books, playing football and listening music.

Samsul was born in the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka. He finished his junior and high school education in Dhaka and went on to complete his undergraduate studies at the University of Dhaka, majoring in Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. Growing up in a country known for Cricket, it quickly became his favorite sport. He has a passion for cooking whenever he finds the time. Currently, he is deeply involved with chemistry, alike the art of cooking, and crafting a flavorful dish (product).

Eli was born in Jackson, Missouri and is currently pursuing a B.S. in Chemistry at SIU. Eli is particularly interested in organometallic chemistry and gained an interest in data science applied to chemistry after working in the Sigman lab at the University of Utah's REU program. Outside of the lab, Eli enjoys making websites, writing all of his documents in LaTex, and hiking at Cedar lake.
2nd Year Graduate Student
Mina is from Syangja district in western part of Nepal. She has received B.S in chemistry from Tri-Chandra college, Kathmandu, Nepal. She joined Dr. Kyle Plunkett’s research group in chemistry and biochemistry department in Fall 2022. Her research interest focuses on organic synthesis for material science applications. She loves to sing, dance, and cook food in free time.

Tahir was born in Narowal, Pakistan. He received a B.Sc. degree in chemistry from the Government College University (GCU) Lahore and a M.S. degree in chemistry from the University of Management and Technology (UMT) Lahore. He enjoys playing badminton in his free time.
